Today's QOTD (Quote of the Day): August 31, 2010

‎"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it." - Groucho Marx

"You Bet Your Life" that I agree with Groucho's assessment of daily life.  I get up every weekday morning at 4:10AM so that I can be on the half-mile walking path at Oak Grove Park in Gladstone by 4:30 to have my time with God and walk 14 laps (7 miles).  Each day while walking, I plan out my day by setting goals, offensively attacking obstacles (instead of defensively), and think about who I am going to talk with that day.  By the time I finish at about 6:35AM (120 minutes or so of walking), my head is clear, the tasks are firmly planted in my head, and I have a real sense of purpose for the next 16 hours that I am awake and mobile.

I invite everyone to do the same.  You must have the time with God to sort out your priorities.  If not, then the day manages you instead of you managing the day.  All things are possible through HIM!

Think about it . . .
